HUES (Humans Uniting for an Equal Society) is an auxiliary nonprofit organization of LAHR (Lansing Association for Human Rights). HUES is dedicated to advocating for the LGBTQ community in Lansing, Michigan.

This month's meeting, we'll be holding elections for open positions. Now is a better time than ever to join and contribute to your local LGBTQ organization, as we'll need all the help we can get over these next four years. Looking forward to seeing everybody there!

HUES has been advocating for the LGBTQ community in the Mid-Michigan area since June 2015. HUES works to provide support, education, leadership opportunities, and community to LGBTQ individuals through its events, meetings, and activities. Check out the board positions if you are interested in a leadership position, or just come to one of our meetings to become a member at large!

Come to an Event!

HUES hosts an event every season, aiming to give LGBTQ people a place where they can feel safe, have fun, and meet others with shared identities. HUES have hosted Summertime Tie-Dye events, LGBTQ trivia games, and The Come Out, which featured a dozen monologues on LGBTQ experiences and attracted over 200 guests. Come to a Meeting!

HUES hosts monthly coalition meetings where we hold presentations and educational discussions about modern topics and issues pertaining to the LGBTQ community. We also discuss and plan upcoming events, meetings, and new programs. Come on out and join us at 7pm on the second Tuesday of the month at Everybody Reads in Lansing!
